Aila Spa
A spa environment inspired by Roman bath typologies, organized around water, levels and a strong connection to the beachfront landscape.
The architectural idea begins with the logic of the bath: water as the spatial and emotional center of the building. The main therapy pool becomes the heart of the project and organizes the surrounding circulation and program.
Different levels accommodate reception, treatment rooms, beauty and spa functions, a compact fitness component and supporting guest amenities. This vertical arrangement helps the project respond naturally to the site while also creating a gradual, immersive wellness journey.
At the lower level the project opens directly to the beach and an outdoor pool with an accompanying bar, allowing the spa experience to extend into a more social and relaxed seaside setting. This makes the destination suitable for both residents and hotel guests.
Stone and timber dominate the material palette, reinforcing the atmosphere of weight, warmth and calm. Surrounded by the dense Caribbean landscape, the building is designed to feel integrated with nature rather than separate from it.
